Benefits of Vitamin K
Good Old Acidophilus Milk One of my favorite episodes of two and a half men is where Alan constantly request Bertha to pick up acidophilus milk from the supermarket . He goes into this bit as he explains to Charlie how its good for the intestinal tract , and good for flora. It's a cute episode episode with Alan having his hissy fit over the acidophilus milk and Bertha to spite him doesn't honor his request. This was the first time I had ever heard of such a milk, and really didn't believe there was such a thing. While I was reading over materials for vitamin K guess what word pops up? Acidophilus Milk As it turns out it enhances the body's natural production of vitamin K, and yes its great for the intestinal tract. The whole time while viewing the program I was thinking this has to be a joke, and I also wondered how many other people drink it? The Use of Coumadin An important point of interest for patients who are prescribed medications such as blood thinners more specifically Warfarin. Warfarin interferes with the absorption of vitamin K. Those who are using this type of medication should consult with their doctor before using their therapeutic doses of of vitamin K. On a different know vitamin K is responsible for healthy liver function, Vitamin K and Blood Clotting One of the basic, and major jobs of Vitamin K is to help the blood to clot. In some of the information I have read, it suggest giving vitamin K to patients before surgery to help the blood reduce blood loss. I wonder if this is practiced in the Western Hemsphere?
